I’m Wendy and I am a work-at-home mother to a beautiful three-year-old girl, and wife to a wonderfully supportive husband called Andy. We live in Bournemouth very close to the beach, which is where I also grew up. Throughout my blog I will refer to my daughter as ‘Little I’, as I’d prefer not to disclose her real name for her own privacy.

I am a journalist turned PR. After having my daughter I made my exit from the PR consultancy that I had set-up in 2006 and embarked on my second business venture, a virtual online PR consultancy called Populate Digital, which I run from my home office. I fully admit to finding returning to work incredibly difficult. While I am grateful for being my own boss and having the ability to work from home most of the time, two years on from returning to work I still miss my daughter terribly on the days that I’m not with her. Luckily she has settled wonderfully into pre-school, and my parents provide an incredible amount of support.

I have been working in the online media industry since 1999, and was an early adopter of social media. I have worked as a journalist, PR consultant, trainer, community manager and business entrepreneur.

Additionally I am an experienced trainer in online PR and social media, and media training, and am a trainer for respected digital marketing training organisation Econsultancy.
